Health screening is an important part of monitoring your body to ensure your wellbeing. It can help detect risk factors for developing disease in the future and pick up illnesses in their early phases before they are apparent.
A ‘Full Medical or health check’
This involves a consultation with the doctor who will take a full medical history and perform a full medical examination. You will be asked a series of questions to help identify any developing health problems which you may or may not be aware of and any risk factors you may have for developing disease in the future.
After this you will see the nurse who will take your blood for routine tests and any others deemed necessary based on your consultation with the doctor. You will be asked to provide a urine sample for urinalysis.
You will be asked to make a follow up appointment to discuss your results and be given advice on any further investigations, lifestyle changes or treatments which may be needed.
